BBC Southampton's Indy Almroth-Wright caught up with the young DJ-ing upstart to see how he's feeling about playing with the big boys at this year's No. 1 party...
Are you ready and raring to go or are you getting a bit nervous? I am a bit nervous because Homelands is a special one for me - all my friends from school are there and it's a local thing so it makes me nervous on that level, but it's good to be nervous!
How did you get into DJ-ing? My dad used to work in a record shop so I did my work experience there. He bought me some decks for Christmas and I did the school's disco - and that's how it all started.
How's it feel to be a Superstar DJ playing with the likes of The Chemical Brothers? It's really bizarre, two years ago I'd never even been on a plane and now I'm off every weekend, which is really weird. I'm just off to America for two weeks and then I come back for Homelands for four days before I go away again for two weeks to Australia. It's weird but great at the same time!
How did you get your big break? It's down to Sasha really, he listened to my mix tape and signed me to his DJ label - and this year I'm actually going to be at Homelands with him.
What do your mates think about your DJ-ing talents? All my mates tell me I'm rubbish! I try and bring more of a live element to DJ-ing - I do a lot of scratching and editing tracks live and playing backwards and that sort of thing.
What preparations are you making in the run up to the festival? I'll probably leave it to the last minute and then panic, but I will go through my records and I've got a little memory card for my CD player so I can edit tracks live.
How would you best friends describe you? James is..... An idiot! Nah! I think all my friends are really pleased for me - I still live in Southampton - I could have made the move to London but I want to stay with my friends and be a local guy.
Have you got any strange habits? Picking my nose, which isn't really a strange habit. Oh I do have a habit of falling asleep pretty much anywhere in my house, on the floor or whatever and waking up with the pattern of the carpet on my face!
